James Gunn is officially attached to direct the upcoming Superman: Legacy for DC Studios and Warner Bros. The movie is scheduled to fly into theatres on July 11, 2025, which coincidentally was Gunn's late father's birthday. The news came a day before the Hollywood Reporter interview with Ben Affleck who made it clear that he would not direct a movie in James Gunn’s DC.
